Hakozakigu

Hakozakigu is one of the three major Hachiman shrines in Japan.
As a god of victory, Fukuoka Softbank Hawks and Avispa Fukuoka, the local professional sports teams, visit to pray for winnig the championship every year.
One of the three biggest festivals in Hakata, “Houjoe” held here from 12th to 18th of september is a festival for celebrating “Love all things’ life, admonish against killing, thankfull for a crop in autumn”. There are hundreds of stores lined up along the almost 1 km long approach to the shrine and crowded with lots of people.
