Not only new year’s worship at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, there are always many tourists. However, the number of people gradually decreases when you walk through the garden of plum trees behind the shrine. You will find red torii at the end of the trail after you pass “Oishi chaya” (tea shop).
“Tenkai Inari” is at the end of the long stairs climbing from here.
This is the oldest Inari shrine in Kyushu built during the Kamakura era (1185 – 1333).
After visiting the Inari shrine, please climb up to the “Okunoin”. A small stone shrine is a very mysterious place.
A spiritual place where you can be united with nature.
